Thiago Silva has been linked with a departure from Chelsea ahead of a hectic summer transfer season.
Thiago Silva has provided an update on his future, following rumours that the Brazilian would be permitted to quit Chelsea if he wanted to return to Brazil this summer. In March, he signed a new one-year contract deal, keeping him at Stamford Bridge until 2024.
Fabrizo Romano- Chelsea are now set to appoint Mauricio Pochettino as new head coach, here we go! Full agreement in place as expected.
On the day that the 38-year-old displayed two banners at his stadium for the first time in his three-year stay in England, he was quick to dispel rumors. It also occurred just hours after his wife, Belle, made her announcement about his possible departure.
“Thank you to everyone who came to me for a picture or a song,” Belle Silva posted on Instagram. We are extremely content here. We’ll be staying.”
“Guys, I want to thank everyone, every person, who came to me for a hug, for a song with ‘Oh Thiago Silva’ out of the stadium, thanks so much,” she added in the accompanying video. My family, my husband, my children, and I are quite happy here in Chelsea, London. My name is Chelsea, and my family and I are blue. We will remain here. Blues, go! Thank you a lot!”
She was responding to speculation that Silva would be among the players to leave the club this summer after the Telegraph reported that the Londoners would not stand in his way if he wanted to leave. Despite his age and the fact that he will turn 39 shortly after the start of the 2023/24 season, Silva remains an important element of the Chelsea defense.
Frank Lampard has already taken command of the South American great twice, but he was unable to prevent his side from losing twice against Nottingham Forest in a 2-2 tie on Saturday. After the game, ESPN asked him about his plans.
“I have a contract here (at Chelsea), right?” he clarified. “It’s even strange because several things are coming out (in the media), and it turns out that the fan is in love.” Some even curse me on social media, while others say ‘come soon,’ while others say ‘if you don’t come now, don’t come anymore.'”
Once Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital reach a definitive agreement with their newest choice, largely expected to be Mauricio Pochettino, Silva will play under his sixth manager (fourth permanent appointment). He appears to have put the possibility of an early exit to rest.
“It’s even boring for me, but I’ve renewed my contract with Chelsea for two months if I’m not mistaken,” he continued. “I’ve always kept my promises.” “I simply will not stay here if Chelsea does not want me for next season or if the new coach does not want me to stay.”Furthermore, I intend to strive to complete my contractual deal by next year. Then, next year, we’ll see what we’re capable of.”
He also addressed Fluminense’s interest, saying, “Yes, I’ve always followed them since I left, I’ve always been very close.” I go there every time I am on vacation to conduct my training. “I have a few friends there.”Numerous notes are saying, ‘Come back soon, come back soon.’ They are really worried, especially when many things are coming out (in the news), some of which are false.
“I even told my wife, ‘I don’t know what meeting Thiago Silva was referring to, that he’s close to returning, that he’s close to settling.'” “There is nothing!”Yes, I spoke with Mário (Bittencourt, president of Fluminense) in January. I chatted with Mário, Marco (assistant coach), and Fred (director of sports planning) about my position and desire. I signed (the renewal) with Chelsea after that meeting. That was exactly what was expressed at that meeting, and with another year of extension, there would undoubtedly be a desire to be able to return, in short, to be able to do something, rather than simply stop my career,” he explained.
