Ross Barkley jokingly proposed it’s unimaginable for opposition groups to score against Chelsea when Trevoh Chalobah plays.
Chalobah, 23, was essential for a Chelsea defense that kept a clean sheet in the San Siro against AC Milan last night.
The Blues kept an extraordinary outcome in the Champions Association bunch stages by beating Milan 2-0 on Tuesday, so they are now in a decent position to attempt to fit the bill for the knockout stages.
Trevoh Chalobah against AC Milan
Chalobah observed Chelsea’s win yesterday with a post on his Instagram.
He stated: “Top of the Champions Association bunch. Fruitful business trip, how about we go!”
Barkley, who’s a former Chelsea player that left in the summer, responded in the comment section with a three-word message of “guaranteed clean sheet”.
Mason Mount and Reece James both made a similar one-word response of “strong” as well.
Defensive record
In fairness, the record when Chalobah has been on the pitch this season has been impressive.
The center-back has shown up this campaign, three of them beginning, with the Blues winning each of the four games he’s been involved in. Chelsea has only conceded one objective while he’s been on the pitch, as well.
He spaces easily into the backline when asked, something he displayed with 30 senior appearances last season.
The 23-year-old is sufficient to play consistently for Graham Potter’s side, particularly when it’s in a back three and he has the calmness of Thiago Silva alongside him.
Chalobah has surprisingly not lost in any of the 28 matches he’s begun for Chelsea, so he’s doing a ton of extraordinary things.
He’s not yet the star name in the Blues backline. However, it’s maybe time he gets somewhat more regard and trust.
