Inter Milan are in contact with Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku about a sensational return this summer.
However, any move will hinge on Lukaku taking a pay-cut on his current Chelsea wages.
So says transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio, speaking to Sky Italia: “There are many contacts.
“Having left a few months ago, he still has an excellent relationship with everyone at Inter.
“It’s true that he continues to hear from former teammates,” he added. “In this way he’s made contact about a potential return.
“I believe such situations are dealt with by agents,” Di Marzio went on. “And I don’t think that, out of respect for Chelsea, he could do something like that himself.”
“He’ll wait until the end of the season,” he continued, “to see who the new owner is, then his future will be decided.
“His salary is so high that I think it’s unlikely that he will return to Italy unless he decides to lower his salary a lot.”
“Lend, sell, what are Chelsea going to do with his situation?” he considered. “It’s too early to ask these questions right now.”
