Chelsea are willing to talk about Barcelona goalkeeper Neto, it’s been claimed.

According to Spanish publication Sport, the Blues are prepared to have discussions about the possibility of signing the 32-year-old goalkeeper.

It is explained that Barcelona may be willing to swap their two players, Neto and Sergino Dest, in their quest to sign Chelsea players.

The report explains the Spanish giants are keen on Blues duo Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, so some kind of part-exchange is mooted.

Chelsea are willing to talk about Barcelona goalkeeper Neto

Neto, who cost Barcelona £23million three years ago, has played a back-up role during his time at the Camp Nou.

The Brazilian shot-stopper has made only 21 first-team appearances since joining from Valencia, keeping seven clean sheets in the process.

He’s been a part of the Brazil national side in the past and earned his one senior international cap back in 2018.

It’s fairly difficult to judge a player when he’s played so little football in the last few years, though.

Neto to replace Kepa?

If Chelsea are serious about signing Neto, that poses the question of what will happen to Kepa Arrizabalaga?

Blues goalkeeper Kepa, 27, is second-choice in-between the sticks at Stamford Bridge, supporting number one option Edouard Mendy.

It’s been reported that Thomas Tuchel’s side want to sell Kepa this summer, despite his individual improvement behind the scenes. Newcastle United have previously been linked, too.

It’s obvious the Blues will need a replacement with some real European experience if Kepa goes, so Barcelona’s understudy does tick quite a few boxes in that aspect.
