Manchester City title winner Raheem Sterling would prefer a move to Chelsea over Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The Telegraph report that Sterling is into the final year of his contract and if he does not decide to sign a new one, it would spark Premier League interest.

England man Sterling has been linked with Tottenham and Arsenal amid his City uncertainty, and Spurs could of course offer Champions League football now.

But if Chelsea manage to make some player sales, it seems they would be interested in Sterling too, once their takeover is formalised.

Sterling would prefer Chelsea over Tottenham

Their report says: “Selling one or all of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic could see Chelsea consider a move for Raheem Sterling.

He has one year remaining on his Manchester City contract and is yet to decide on his future.

Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal would also be interested in Sterling, but Chelsea would be a more attractive option at this stage of the 27-year-old’s career were he to decide against signing an extension at City.

At Chelsea, Sterling would find himself in the same rotation system in the forward areas as City, although selling some of the aforementioned players to fund the move would help that situation.

Tottenham would probably add him to the frontline alongside Harry Kane and Heung-min Son, but Dejan Kulusevski has come in and done so well on their right hand side.

City of course just won the Premier League and have as much chance of battling for honours as any team on the planet next season.

That said, Sterling cost £49 million back in 2015 and City would likely want to cash in on him if it becomes clear he will not sign a new deal, rather than let him go for nothing.
