Pep Guardiola is confident that both Manchester United and Chelsea will bounce back from their disappointing starts to the new Premier League season. United faced increased pressure after suffering a 3-1 home defeat to Brighton on Saturday, while Chelsea’s struggles in front of goal continued as they played to a goalless draw against Bournemouth on Sunday.

United have now lost three of their first five Premier League games, while Chelsea has managed only one win in their opening five fixtures, amassing just five points in the league under Mauricio Pochettino.

Despite this, Guardiola commended Arsenal and Liverpool for their strong starts to the season but believes that both United and Chelsea will find their form “sooner or later.”

“We will have ups and downs during the season; it will not be smooth throughout,” Guardiola stated ahead of City’s upcoming Champions League group-stage game against Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday evening. He acknowledged that some of the prominent teams are currently distancing themselves from the pack.

He praised the performances of Arsenal and Liverpool, mentioning that they have been exceptional. When questioned about Manchester United’s start to the season, Guardiola chuckled and responded, “Well, they didn’t begin as they might have expected, similar to Chelsea, but historically, Manchester United and Chelsea always find their rhythm sooner or later.”
