So far this season, the South American striker has 24 goals and 10 assists in 51 games across all competitions.
He’s particularly successful in a two-man attack, whether partnering Edin Dzeko or Blues loanee Romelu Lukaku.
InterLive reported last month that the Italian club will demand at least €80 million (£70 million) to transfer Martinez, whose current contract expires in 2026.
Martinez is a highly regarded player in the footballing world, having previously received high acclaim from Lionel Messi and Antonio Conte.
Martinez, with whom Messi plays for Argentina’s national team, has previously been characterised as “spectacular” by Messi.
Former Chelsea manager Conte previously coached Martinez at the San Siro. A few of years ago, the Italian boss gushed over the Inter striker’s improvement and quality.
Martinez has been on an upward track over the last year, culminating in his World Cup victory.
