Mauricio Pochettino gives £52m green light amid Reece James injury update
Chelsea appears to be making huge moves ahead of the summer transfer season, with their first prospective addition in midfield highlighted.

Moises Caicedo, Declan Rice, and Manuel Ugarte are among the candidates to accompany Enzo Fernandez next season. Paris Saint-Germain are attempting to capture the latter in the early stages of the transfer season, but they appear to be up against heavy competition from the Blues.
According to Record in Portugal, Ugarte is close to joining PSG after the Parisians submitted a €60 million (£51 million) deal that satisfied his release clause. Chelsea, on the other hand, has responded fiercely in the summer saga.
Update on Reece James’s injury
Frank Lampard has offered an injury update for this weekend’s final Premier League game against Newcastle.
The Blues have a long injury list, but there was hope Mason Mount and Reece James would be back before the season ended, but that now appears improbable.
“Reece won’t be fit, and Mason is going to be tight,” Lampard said. “He (James) came out yesterday and went back in because he had a little bit of an awareness, but we hope the scan shows no real damage.” It was only a small reminder that it was a little early to be out.”
Manchester United are hoping that Tottenham Hotspur will not sell star striker Harry Kane this summer, according to our sister publication Manchester Evening News.
The Red Devils are still keen on signing Kane, but they are thought to be actively looking for alternatives, given that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has stated that the England captain would not be sold at the end of the current season.

Chelsea has also expressed an interest in Kane, and if they act on their affection for the Spurs forward, they could have a free hand in signing him, despite Levy’s adamant opposition to a deal.
