Lucas Hernandez (27) joined Paris Saint-Germain from Bayern Munich in the summer, and in an exclusive interview with Le Parisien, the left-back revealed that Kylian Mbappé (24) played a role in bringing him to the Parc des Princes.

Hernandez’s four-year stay at the Bavarian club came to an end this summer. Having joined Bayern Munich for €80m from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2019, he went on to make over 100 appearances for the club, winning the Bundesliga title in every season that he spent in Germany.
In an interview with Bild in 2021, Mbappé revealed that Hernandez had tried to convince him to join Bayern Munich, however, it was ultimately the France captain who convinced Lucas Hernandez to make the opposite journey. “I spoke about the transfer quite a lot with Kylian because I get on very well with him,” began Hernandez in an interview with Le Parisien ahead of Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League clash against AC Milan.
“There were little texts, some calls to see how I felt at Bayern. One day, he asked me if I was open to coming (to PSG) and he told me he would do everything to convince me. He also called me after my injury (suffered in France’s 2022 World Cup opener against Australia) to see how I was. Then when the little rumours started coming out in the press, he called me to ask my opinion,” added the France international.
