Former Chelsea star Joe Cole has expressed his belief that Tottenham Hotspur has the potential to secure the final top-four position in the Premier League standings, despite their recent draw with West Ham that prevented them from overtaking Aston Villa.

Currently occupying fifth place, Tottenham trails Aston Villa by a mere two points with eight games left in the season.

While heavy competition is expected among teams like Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City vying for the top three spots, Cole remains optimistic about Spurs’ chances.

In a statement to TNT Sports following Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with West Ham, Cole remarked, “I believe Spurs could clinch fourth place. They were a surprise package for me this season, particularly with the addition of Ange, and we all witnessed his success at Celtic.”

Regarding Aston Villa’s European campaign potentially affecting their league performance, Cole added, “The demands of European competition may take a toll on Aston Villa. I can envision Tottenham catching up to them.”
