Chelsea face Manchester United in their final Premier League game of the 2022/23 season on Thursday, and Erik ten Hag has some terrible news for the Blues.
The Dutchman held his pre-match press conference earlier on Wednesday, as the Red Devils look to secure their place in the Champions League for next season.
Marcus Rashford was mentioned during the meeting, and Frank Lampard probably didn’t like what he heard.

Frank Lampard hands 19-year-old start: Chelsea predicted XI vs Man United

What is the backstory?
Ten Hag confirmed that the Manchester United No.10 appears to be in good enough shape to face Chelsea on Thursday.
When asked if Rashford is now totally fit, the 53-year-old remarked, according to Manchester United’s official website, “It looks like it.” He returned to training yesterday and appears to be in good shape, but we’ll have to wait until today to see how the session went and how he recovered. Then we’ll make our decisions.”
Of all, Chelsea has nothing to play for, so Rashford’s availability could be worse for Lampard if the Blues were fighting for a European qualification slot.
Nonetheless, Chelsea will seek to end the season on a high and carry momentum into the 2023/24 season by defeating Manchester United, so news of the England international returning will not be welcomed.
Rashford has been in phenomenal form this season, scoring 29 goals and assisting 11 times in all competitions, despite failing to score in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in October.
Rashford may make a decision. Chelsea vs. Manchester United
While Rashford has yet to score against the West Londoners this season, he has a solid record against them.
In 16 prior outings versus the Blues, the 25-year-old has scored five goals and provided three assists.
Rashford may so determine Thursday’s game at Old Trafford.
In general, however, Manchester United do not have a good record versus Chelsea when their No.10 plays.
Rashford has only won four of his sixteen appearances, drew seven, and lost five.

Why Chelsea Should Start Using David Datro Fofana

Having said that, Rashford has had his finest scoring season to date this season, so his new lease on life could be enough to propel Manchester United to victory.
