The Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended seventy-four (74) individuals suspected of internet fraud in Ogun State on Thursday.
The anti-corruption agency disclosed that the suspected fraudsters were captured at the Government Residential Area (G.R.A) in Shagamu, Ogun State, following surveillance and intelligence operations targeting their alleged internet-related activities.
According to a statement posted on the EFCC’s Twitter page, the arrests led to the recovery of seven luxury cars, three laptops, 124 mobile phones, one PlayStation 3 game console, two motorcycles, and various incriminating documents.
The EFCC statement further mentioned that the suspects will face prosecution in court once investigations are completed.
