- Mikel heavily criticised Jackson last week
- Striker responded with goal and assist vs Wolves
- Took to social media to send message to legend
WHAT HAPPENED?
Jackson played an important role as Chelsea ran out 6-2 winners against Wolves on Sunday. The Senegal international opened the scoring just 98 seconds into the Premier League clash at Molineux Stadium and then played the ball for Cole Palmer to fire in the Blues’ second goal from long range.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
The 23-year-old’s performance comes a week after Blues hero Mikel criticised him following his display in the 2-0 loss to Manchester City, saying that he is not of the quality Chelsea need.
“You need a striker who knows how to hit a ball in the back of the net and that’s what we don’t have,” he said on Bein Sports. “I know I talk so much about him and sometimes I sound like I disrespect him. I don’t disrespect him. I think at Chelsea Football Club we need a top striker who can get us a goal.”
WHAT JACKSON SAID
After his positive display against Wolves, Jackson took the opportunity to hit back at Mikel on social media. He tagged Mikel in an Instagram Story and wrote: “Shut your mouth, don’t talk sh*t, we ae killing ourself for Africa.”

Jackson, who scored 17 times in 44 appearances for Chelsea last season, will hope to put in another important display when the Blues meet Servette in the second leg of their Europa Conference League qualifying tie on Thursday.
