The Delta State Police Command has apprehended Raphael Egbo, a 20-year-old, in connection with the alleged murder of his 19-year-old girlfriend, Jessica Uzowanne. The incident, reported by City & Crime, unfolded following a disagreement between the couple, resulting in Uzowanne’s fatal stabbing.
Commissioner of Police in the State, Abaniwonda Olufemi, informed journalists in Asaba about the arrest, indicating that Egbo was apprehended by the Ozoro Divisional Police. Additionally, the command detained another suspect, Ogwu Endurance, believed to be involved in multiple kidnappings and rapes in the Abraka area. Endurance, identified as a serial armed robber, allegedly raped a 23-year-old victim during one of the robbery incidents.
Furthermore, the police commissioner disclosed the arrest of Nicholas Charles, accused of fatally stabbing Ngozi Sharon William, a family friend, during a visit to his residence on Adizue Onochei Street, Asaba. According to Olufemi, a disagreement between Charles and William escalated in the kitchen, where Charles fatally stabbed the victim.
