Chelsea are reportedly monitoring Eddie Nketiah’s situation as he nears the end of his Arsenal contract.

According to 90min, the Stamford Bridge heirechy have one eye on the player they released from their academy in 2015.

Chelsea monitoring Eddie Nketiah

Before becoming a Gunner, Nketiah was born into blue.

He played in the same youth sides as Mason Mount, Trevoh Chalobah and Declan Rice but like the latter, failed to convince the club to sign him professionally.

The young striker instead joined Arsenal and is only really now bearing the fruits of his decision to move across the capital.

Since the middle of April, he has become Mikel Arteta’s main centre-forward, pushing Alexandre Lacazette to the wings.

Nketiah scored twice on just his second start in the Premier League this season, ironically coming against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

A few weeks later, the English man bagged another brace as Arsenal defeated Leeds United 2-1.

However, despite finally becoming Arteta’s ‘phenomenal’ go-to attacker, there remains doubt that he will be leading the line next year.

His deal with Arsenal expires at the end of the term and 90min claim that an exit in the summer is ‘increasingly likely’.

There is already a growing list of interested suitors waiting for Nketiah to pack his bags, a queue that’s also apparently been joined by both Chelsea and Liverpool.

Ready, Eddie, go!

Jurgen Klopp’s need to add another to his offensive pack is arguably greater than his fellow German stationed in London.

Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane’s contract run out next June.

Neither have given much indication towards extending their stay at Anfield, meaning a contingency plan might be required.

Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel’s attack seems pretty well stocked at the moment.

Rumbles about Romelu Lukaku leaving have died down since his three goals in two game streak.

Christian Pulisic recently revealed he was happy at Chelsea, despite struggling to tie down a regular spot in the team.

Then there’s still Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Liverpool, Eddie is yours if you want him.
