Chelsea is seriously interested’ in Internazionale’s Cameroon custodian Andre Onana but is unwilling to pay the Italian club’s asking price at the moment, according to journalist Rudy Galetti of GIVEMESPORT.
Onana joined the club on a free transfer from Ajax in July 2022 and has appeared in 37 games in all competitions.

Thomas Tuchel was seriously impressed by 18-year-old Chelsea player’s technique

Andre Onana is the latest Chelsea transfer news.
Given the worrisome performances of both Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy this season, signing a new custodian will be one of many priorities for new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino.
According to The Telegraph, Onana, who is great with the ball at his feet, is a target for the Blues this summer, especially because out-of-favour Mendy has failed to sign a contract extension with the club.
Given Inter’s continued financial difficulties, the 27-year-old is widely regarded as available for the proper price, albeit the Italian club is still holding out for a figure Chelsea is unwilling to meet.
Chelsea is now open to bids for both of their goalkeepers, though Kepa’s hefty salary makes it unlikely that he would leave, and the Spaniard looks certain to remain at Stamford Bridge as an overpaid back-up.

Meanwhile, Onana has impressed for the Italian giants in his rookie season, particularly in the Champions League, where his steady efforts have helped Inter reach the semi-finals and, with the Nerazzurri currently leading rivals Milan 2-0, the final.
