With everything going on at Chelsea this season, it’s easy to forget that they also need to find a new major jersey sponsor for next season, as their existing arrangement with Three UK expires.
Main shirt sponsors are sometimes seen as one of the most significant transactions that a team must complete, far more crucial than any transfer deal. It’s not only about earnings, as insider Ben Jacobs reveals in his latest exclusive and in-depth Chelsea FC essay for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea this week.

According to Jacobs, Chelsea is looking for an immersive and worldwide partner as a shirt sponsor rather than just someone to pay to put a logo on their jersey.
Chelsea has been in negotiations with German conglomerate Allianz about being their next primary sponsor, and Jacobs admits that those talks have taken place recently.
“Just a final word on Chelsea’s new incoming shirt sponsor,” Jacobs said. “The club has been considering several ideas. They want an immersive and global partner, not just someone to pay to plaster a brand on their clothing. “By this, I mean that Chelsea wants a primary sponsor who benefits both the club and the fans and has a larger worldwide audience. And when you cut it down to that, you’re generally looking at banks or insurers, automobiles, airplanes, and technological behemoths. There have undoubtedly been discussions with Allianz. Chelsea is aiming to sign something quickly so that they may gather all of their assets before the start of the new season.”
