- Chelsea draw 2-2 against Burnley
- Players reportedly tired of Pochettino
- Tell club management to get rid of coach
WHAT HAPPENED?
According to an exclusive report by HITC, some Chelsea players have approached club management and Todd Boehly regarding their displeasure with Pochettino with an upturn in form looking unlikelier every day. The players reportedly want the Argentine coach to be shown the door at the end of the season and not be given the option to continue at Stamford Bridge next season.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
After the disappointing draw against Vincent Kompany’s Burnley, Chelsea now sit in the bottom half of the Premier League table. They have accumulated just 40 points in 28 matches, and sit eight points off Manchester United in sixth place. They reached the Carabao Cup final only to lose late in injury time to Liverpool. However, they are still alive and kicking in the FA Cup and Pochettino will be hoping winning the cup could be his saving grace come the end of the season.
DID YOU KNOW?
Chelsea owners Boehly and Clearlake Capital have reportedly made the decision to not make a hasty call regarding Pochettino’s future after the club went through three managers last season: Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Frank Lampard.
WHAT NEXT FOR CHELSEA?
If Chelsea do make the decision to sack the Argentine manager, it will very likely only be after the end of the season. They will next be in action when they take on Manchester United on Thursday, April 4.
