All the latest Chelsea news and transfer rumours as they happen in our live blog on Tuesday

Hello and welcome to football.london‘s live Chelsea blog on Tuesday!

The Blues ended their season on a high note with a win over Watford as they prepare to go into the following campaign under new ownership, with Todd Boehly set to be named new owner in the coming days.

The BBC reported late last night that UK Government are set to approve Chelsea’s £4.25bn sale in the 24 hours. Boehly was on the pitch speaking to players and manager Thomas Tuchel yesterday after the victory, as the rebuilding of the squad will begin from today.

The summer transfer window is looming tantalisingly over the horizon, and Chelsea know they will have to almost completely rebuild their defence. Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger are both set to leave as free agents, while fellow defenders Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta have been heavily linked with moves to Barcelona.

Chelsea have been linked with a number of players as Tuchel looks to add depth and quality to his squad ahead of next season. With that said, sit back and let football.london bring you all the latest from west London.

Chelsea draw-up eight-man shortlist

Chelsea have reportedly drawn up an eight-man shortlist as Thomas Tuchel looks to bolster his defensive unit this summer, with Jules Kounde and Josko Gvardiol his number one targets, according to The Telegraph.

It is also reported that Chelsea could make a shock move for Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling if one of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech or Christian Pulisic were to leave.

Takeover green light

The UK Government are set to approve Chelsea’s £4.25bn sale in the 24 hours, according to the BBC. The west London side confirmed last week that Todd Boehly’s consortium have reached an agreement to acquire the club from Roman Abramovich.

However, the proposed deal awaited approval by the government and the Premier League before it could be completed. And, according to the BBC, the Government are set to give Chelsea the green light.

Kounde spotted in London

Chelsea fans have spotted a major transfer hint regarding the future of Jules Kounde. The 23-year-old, who has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer, was pictured with a fan in London.
