Chelsea logo decision made ahead of Brentford and Real Madrid clashes amid takeover latest

The Blues are set to continue wearing shirts sponsored by Three despite the sanctions imposed on the club

Chelsea are set to continue wearing shirts sponsored by mobile phone operator Three for the rest of the season, according to reports.

The company announced that they were suspending their £40million-a-year-deal with the club shortly after Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK government. As a result of the suspension, they asked for the branding to be removed from the Blues’ kits.

A statement read: “In light of the government’s recently announced sanctions, we have requested Chelsea Football Club temporarily suspend our sponsorship of the club, including the removal of our brand from shirts and around the stadium until further notice.
“We recognise that this decision will impact the many Chelsea fans who follow their team passionately. However, we feel that given the circumstances, and the government sanction that is in place, it is the right thing to do.”

Despite Three’s announcement, Chelsea have continued to wear shirts with their logo on the front. it was reported earlier this month that the Chelsea did not have any stock of shirts without the logos and were unable to order more after Abramovich was sanctioned.
