Joshua Rogers, the Channels Television journalist who was abducted in Rivers State, has been freed. He was taken captive on Thursday night around 9 pm after reportedly being followed to his home. Armed assailants seized him at gunpoint and drove off with his vehicle.
Reports indicate that the kidnappers contacted his wife, demanding a ransom of N30 million. Following the abduction, there was widespread media coverage and appeals from various groups for his safe release. It remains unclear whether any ransom was paid for his freedom.
Rogers was later seen at his elder brother’s residence, surrounded by family and friends singing praises. As of now, the Rivers State Police Command has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
