Chelsea’s 2022/23 season has been plagued by injury, with Mason Mount, Reece James, Marc Cucurella, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Wesley Fofana all out.
Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell was hauled off with a possible hamstring injury during the Premier League match against Bournemouth. After being replaced by Cesar Azpilicueta, the England international signaled that he had a hamstring problem as he headed back to the bench.

Wesley Fofana was kept out of the matchday squad as a precaution by Frank Lampard, who was suffering from a hamstring injury ahead of kick-off. Chilwell appears to have picked up a similar condition and may miss the game against Nottingham Forest next week, with his fitness for the remainder of the season appearing in doubt.
The Blues won all three points for the first time under Lampard, with two late goals from Benoit Badiashile and Joao Felix. Chelsea has now moved up to 11th in the league, putting any worries of relegation to rest.
Chiwell had been out with a hamstring injury earlier this season, missing 10 games for the Blues. If the 26-year-old is missing for the same amount of time again, he will be sidelined for the rest of the season.

Lampard, on the other hand, will be hoping that the injury is not significant and that Chilwell will be able to return before the conclusion of the 2022/23 season. Azpilicueta can fill in at left-back, but with Reece James out, Chelsea will be without its starting full-backs.
Cucurella might recover in time to replace Chilwell in the starting XI against Forest next Saturday.
