After a mediocre 2022–23 season, PSG faces a turn around summer, and the Gunners may be the targets of an expensive transfer swoop.
Most of Mikel Arteta’s squad features some of the hottest players in football right now, including those from Arsenal. With that status comes the ongoing rumors connecting their assets to high-profile transactions.
In the last 12 months, William Saliba, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, Folarin Balogun, and Gabriel Jesus have all been the subject of interest from around Europe after impressive individual seasons.

Since they have qualified for the Champions League, the Gunners are in a good position to guard their star players. In north London, Martinelli, Saka, and Aaron Ramsdale have all signed new contracts, and discussions with Odegaard and Salibia are still underway.
However, Arteta will typically get a genuine scare from reports of money and discoveries from Italy. In light of the uncertainties surrounding Christophe Galtier’s future, Foot Mercato claims that Julian Nagelsmann is a viable contender for the Paris Saint-Germain managerial position.
Where does Arsenal fit into this, though? According to the same report, Thierry Henry, a fan favorite at Emirates Stadium, is most likely to be seen as a “contingency option” by the Qatari owners in Paris. After helping Les Blues win the European Championship and World Cup and scoring 51 goals in 123 games, Henry is a national hero in France.
Since leaving MLS team Montreal Impact, he has not attempted to coach, which makes the appointment all the more unexpected. However, should he replace Galtier, there’s a great chance he may plunder his previous employers to enhance the PSG squad.
Saliba and Odegaard have been closely associated with the French giants recently. Tempting Odegaard will prove more challenging than Saliba, but working with one of the game’s greatest would be impossible to turn down.

Neymar is anticipated to leave the team as well, following Lionel Messi who has already quit. This summer, the attack at the Parc des France will be PSG’s top priority, which means Henry might be keeping an eye on Martinelli or Jesus.
Arsenal will need to be aware of a potential transfer raid on their roster from one of their favorite players if Henry is hired. Fortunately for Arsenal, the fraternal bond developed in London Colney means some convincing will have to be done.
