The possibility of Arsenal signing Raheem Sterling from Chelsea on a permanent deal remains uncertain. Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has made it clear that Sterling is not part of his plans, prompting the winger to move elsewhere in London. A return to Stamford Bridge seems unlikely, as Chelsea is well-stocked with attacking talent, including Joao Felix, who is predicted to outperform Sterling according to the club’s data.
Although Arsenal does not currently have an option to buy Sterling, journalist Ben Jacobs believes there’s still a chance the Gunners could sign the 29-year-old permanently next year. Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jacobs explained that Sterling is enthusiastic about the move and is the kind of opportunistic signing Arsenal has made before. He added that Sterling is prepared to be a squad player, confident he’ll receive significant playing time throughout the season.
Meanwhile, Chelsea has signed Jadon Sancho from Manchester United, with Sancho and Pedro Neto effectively replacing Sterling on the left wing. Despite Sterling’s poor goal return last season and his high wages, Chelsea is likely to part ways with him permanently next summer unless something dramatically changes, such as Sterling having an outstanding season or Mykhailo Mudryk underperforming.
