Chelsea have watched Torino centre back Gleison Bremer three times this season, according to Football.London.
If that’s true, he must be on the shortlist of players the club are looking at to replace the departing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
We already know that Jules Kounde of Sevilla is top of the list, and it sounds a lot like Josko Gvardiol of RB Leipzig is on the shortlist too.
But Thomas Tuchel is likely to want two signings in that position, meaning a shortlist of 5 or 6 options will have been closely scouted over the last few months. Bremer is clearly among them.
An aggressive, front foot defender, with Serie A experience and still just 25, it’s easy to see why Chelsea are interested.
He probably doesn’t have the same quality as the players who are departing, but at £21m would provide good value compared to the likes of Kounde and other more premium options.
